Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is commonly translated as “Yogic sleep”.

In this case it is a conscious sleep, similar to the state of semi-consciousness that we feel before falling asleep.

The body is completely relaxed and the individual becomes more and more aware of his inner world following the teacher's verbal instructions.

During the practice, we reach such a deep relaxion status,  that the samskara (latent impressions that affect karma) are purified.

Yoga Nidra, already mentioned in ancient Tantric and Vedic texts and brought to the West by Swami Satyananda Saraswati, also helps to reduce stress-induced disorders such as:

  • anxiety and insomnia

  • Hypertension

  • Migraine

  • respiratory disorders

  • digestive disorders

  • symptoms of hormonal imbalances
